Tommy May studied Photography at Savannah College of Art and Design. He and his partner, Gwen, founded Grey Projects LA in December 2016.

Tommy is a Los Angeles based artist, whose objective is portraying memories through vibrant colors and crudely drawn symbols. He works in various mediums; such as enamel, acrylic, oil, watercolor, sculpture and printmaking.

His current work is a continuation of a particular series. These paintings are made up symbols that have become an expression of his life. “I break down my surroundings to their most childlike form, exploring through color, layers and repetition. Each painting is a piece of the puzzle, they are all in visual conversation with one another. They are insignificant without the other”.
